It's a very complicated system initiated by NUS. Basically they
allocate us a few hundred 'bid points' in two separate accounts
every semester... some modules use one account, while other modules
use the other.
It's an extremely complicated thing, and I would never have fully
grasped it as a freshman if I didn't have any seniors to lead the
way for me.
Anyway, suffice to say that their allocation of bid points for us
engineers is extremely screwed-up in spite of our constant
complaints and suggestions on how to make the system fairer.
